Flirty. Adventurous. Happy.
There done. That’s all you need to know.

.. okay fine not really. That just sums it up--plus the fact she’s a mermaid. Like legit.
Blythe is absolutely bent on the idea that you can’t linger in the past and she lives for the day, figuring it’s worth bouncing back and smiling at the world than letting it go by. Never give up never surrender and all that and she’ll be damned if she lets you think you can just give up. She’s happy, sometimes irritatingly so--absolutely blithe. She likes to be optimistic until there’s nothing else to say. Hardly says no to anything, her knack for adventure certainly can get her in trouble more than once, or it just lands her in serendipity! This girl loves the beach and water and will usually make time to dig her toes in the sand if the opportunity shows itself to her.

Certainly living life as is and YOLO are what she lives by...well that and thinking you’re all a bunch of fucking liars. Oops forgot to mention that. Yes Blythe just thinks everyone’s a pathological liar or something and she looks past that usually to say she trusts them, but she’s always worried everything people have told her is a large, elaborate lie.

“…Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” – Henry Thoreau

… or something like that.

She was born on the Italian coast to a mother named Elle and a father named Benito. She was named after her grandmothers, Blithe and Artemis who had been adored by their family for their kindness and wisdom they got from reading too many books. Blythe grew up in Capri, Naples in a small, cozy home that overlooked the sea. Her parents were very proud of where they lived. Elle worked as an editor for novels and Benito was a successful artist, both lovely, open-minded liberal people. They lived comfortably and happily in their life.

Blythe’s neighbor was a boy named Nico d’Ache and when the little mermaid’s nose wasn’t stuck in a book or writing pad or wasn’t blabbering the English language she started to learn quickly, she was with him. Nico and his dalmatian Bernie spent their childhood likewise hanging with Blythe, avoiding parents and law enforcement when they would run amok through the streets of Capri, causing trouble and pranking tourists and jumping from roofs. Little Italian parkour artists.

From early in her life, Blythe knew she wanted to work with people though, despite her love for causing sarcastic problems for them she did like helping others. Still does! The girl got the fantasy stuck in her head of sailing on large flying ships and traveling to exotic places to help people in need, and as she grew up that daydream turned into the ideal of becoming a field medic for whoever might need her.

It was also noticed that she might have had this talked-of ‘sixth sense’ of course she didn’t think it was weird so she didn’t think to mention it, either. Seeing people on the street, hearing voices here and there. Nothing was violent to her so it was all the more reason to ignore it. Well, not until Nico and her were more stupid than they usually were.

The kids had lived most of their teenage years dicking around and partying and had met an interesting fellow one night that Blythe was instantly curious about. He lured the two friends to the top of some ‘haunted’ lighthouse, promising something cool. He left them there with an Ouija board, saying to start without him as the boy went to check something. They did start after a few minutes and it wasn’t long into the game that something was clearly wrong. Something came from the board and Nico was on the ground, Blythe went to see if he was alright when he attacked her violently, leaving the girl with the scars across her chest and arm she lives with today. She says he was possessed by whatever was in that board and would never blame the boy for what happened and remains to the day terrified of those boards.

Determined to prove it wasn’t him she went to her parents to ask what they knew of possessions and spirits and was sharply brushed off by them and the inquiry was ignored, otherwise told to be absolutely false and spirits were no such thing. Hurt and stunned by their disregard for such an unknown thing, she disregarded her parents and decided she’d find answers elsewhere and Blythe moved to the United States to study to become a medic as she had planned.

Nico helped her move in and left her with one of Bernie’s puppies, a happy little dog Blythe named Enzo. That dalmatian pup ended up being as sensitive as they come to the paranormal activity around and by now Blythe had done enough reading and tabbing around the internet to know likewise of it.

Walking Enzo after class one day they passed a large, gleaming tower she’d seen before but never took particular notice of. Sure it was pretty, but there were things to do! She was ready to ignore it once more, before Enzo began to bark excitedly at it and she decided to finally just go and investigate why he was so anxious about it. This proved to be a place called Litetower, a paranormal investigation organization and that was enough to get her curious to lurk further into it. Eventually Blythe landed herself working there as one of their medics, quitting school to focus on work. She had her dream job doing things she didn’t even fathom and things were good and exciting.

During work she met amazing people she was glad to work with and call friends, even if she lost a couple as the months wore on--namely a one Caister Westburn who disappeared after he confessed his feelings for her and disappeared the next day. She still has mixed emotions about it, deciding he was either messing with her entirely or she was the one who indirectly sent him off. All the same, Blythe has been terrified of having those close to her leave her ever since.

Soon after that she developed a likewise interesting relationship with fellow (at the time) medic Taylor Davidson of whom she remains to call a ‘good friend.’ After the shit storm that had happened at the workplace six months back and her almost losing that boy, she remains worried about losing people but tries not to let that show. When the tower closed and she, along with those coworkers, were all relieved Nico found himself back in New York to make sure his mermaid was alright and she and the two boys all traveled to Europe to find something else to do with themselves.

They returned to Indenvale with word of Litetower’s revival. Blythe was relieved to find it truly reopened and unsurprised that it under fresh management. There was just a breath of hesitation before she reapplied for her old job. Dangerous and crazy as their work was, she didn’t want to be doing anything else.

▲ Although she’s gotten better and actually wears shoes like a normal person, she still doesn’t like them and continues to remove them whenever she might.

▲ Has multiple moleskin notebooks. Her current one has a cover by Michael C. Hsiung.

▲ Smokes weed... "occasionally."

▲ Her parents’ quote-y, intelligent speeches stick with her and she likes literature and lives for good quotes because of it.

▲ Blythe and Taylor are friends with benefits.

▲ Has scars on her left forearm and under her right armpit. She doesn't talk about them, though she’ll be glad to tell you about the other scars on across the top of her right arm and through the left side of her hip. Work hazards, y’know~ [ <a href="”LINK" goes="" here”="">scar ref goes here when I draw it ]

▲ Can’t drive lol

▲ Bilingual and speaks fluent English and Italian.

▲ She carries around a notebook and turquoise ballpoint pen to sketch words or phrases that come to mind. She also only writes in that turquoise pen, nothing else.

▲ Her lighter says "When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire." Yeah she's terrified of fire, but still carries around a lighter. Weird, right?

▲ NOTE ABOUT ACCESSORIES: Her left nostril has a bronze or gold hoop. She wears gauges and has a simple black plug in her left ear and a spiral in her right (which can be any pattern or style you feel). Her eyes are brown and hazel (heterochromiac*).

be free.”

I haven't yet checked out your page but you should make games! The art is so realistic in a cartoony way at first I though the Arizona can was a real image. Even if you don't make a big game I think it would be cool if you did even a dress up game because there are simple tutorials in flash on how to make dress-up games and just like the comments said I also really like your style. And finally, I love what you did with basic colors! And I haven't read Blythe's Bio yet.
